The history of Aul College, Aul dates back to the year 1967 when some young enthusiastic people of this area with a mission and vision registered Aul College, Aul under Societies Act of 1860. But due to some problems the mission could not bear fruit. In a remote and underdeveloped area like Aul the idea of establishing a centre of higher learning again crept into the minds of some sons of the soil serving in then Calcutta (now Kolkata). A meeting was held in the month of February 1975 in Clive Row, Calcutta to chalk out the plan for setting up a college in Aul to cater to the needs of poor, downtrodden and underprivileged people of the locality. Consequently, some best brains of Aul with indefatigable, indomitable and undaunted spirit met at Nua Bazaar, Aul to materialise the dreams and aspirations of the people of Aul under the presidentship of Late Bimbadhar Tripathy. With a positive set up in mind a committee was formed in the next meeting held in the month of June 1975 with 35 members to give a concrete shape to the college. Late Dr Dibakar Nath Sharma, Late Sarat Kumar Dev and Late Bimbadhar Tripathy were in the Sabhapati Mandali and Late Jagabandhu Mishra, Late Kanhu Charan Sahoo and Sri Keshaba Charan Behera were in Sampadaka Mandali.
